First-Year College Freshmen Enrolling in 2025

Purpose of the survey: Each year, the University of Montpellier conducts a back-to-school survey of students who have recently graduated from high school and are enrolled in their first year of study at the university. The goal is to gain a better understanding of these students (including their reasons for enrolling, their motivation for pursuing their studies, and their expectations and concerns), to provide them with better information, and to offer them more effective support.

Data recorded on the individuals concerned: Data from administrative registration: identification data (student ID number, INE number, last name, first name, email addresses), information regarding the baccalaureate, enrollment details, sociodemographic characteristics, exam results, and data from Parcoursup. National SISE data (continuation of studies in the French higher education system). Data collected as part of this survey.

Recipients of identification data: Only authorized staff members of OSIPE/SCUIO-IP (Observatory for Monitoring and Professional Integration of Students) will have access to the identification data, which will be used solely during the data collection period to ensure the reliability of survey participation.

Retention period for survey data: 5 years (anonymized after one year using secure coding).

Reporting of results: The reporting of results will be strictly anonymous: no survey data will be disclosed in a non-anonymous form. A data analysis will be presented in the form of a “summary sheet” by degree program on the website of the University of Montpellier Observatory: http://osipe.umontpellier.fr. In addition, questions marked with an asterisk (*) will be processed and published jointly by the participating universities (University of Nîmes, University of Perpignan, Paul Valéry University Montpellier 3, University of Montpellier).

Individual Rights: You have the right to access your personal data or request its deletion. You also have the right to withdraw your consent, the right to rectification, and the right to restrict the processing of your data (see cnil.fr for more information on your rights). Graduates of vocational bachelor’s degree programs and Bachelor’s of Applied Sciences programs in 2024 – UM Survey

The University of Montpellier is conducting a survey to assess the career paths and job prospects associated with the programs taken by the university’s various student groups, with the aim of providing information to future graduates, faculty, and the university.

Data recorded about the individuals concerned: data from Apogée: identification data (student ID number, INE number, last name, first name, email addresses), information regarding the baccalaureate, enrollment details, and sociodemographic characteristics. Data collected through responses to survey questions.

Data recipients: Only authorized personnel from the OSIPE (Observatory for Student Monitoring and Career Integration) will have access to identifying information. The OSIPE uses this identifying information to ensure the reliability of survey participation and its results. The responses collected regarding Lpro graduates from the IUT Montpellier Sète will be forwarded to the IUT MS Quality Steering Committee for cross-referencing with their 6-month survey, for the purpose of cohort tracking.

Retention period for personal data: 3 years (after 3 years, the survey files will be anonymized).

Reporting of results: The reporting of results will be strictly anonymous: no personal data will be disclosed (unless you give your consent in the survey). A data analysis will be presented in the form of a “summary sheet” by major and in anonymized directories on the University of Montpellier Observatory’s website: http://osipe.umontpellier.fr.

In light of the favorable opinion of the National Council for Statistical Information, this survey is recognized as being in the public interest and of statistical quality, and is mandatory pursuant to Law No. 51-711 of June 7, 1951, on the obligation, coordination, and confidentiality of statistics. It has been approved under authorization No. 2025A071RE by the Minister of the Economy, Finance, and Recovery, valid for the 2025–2026school year Decree published on December 13, 2020.

Responses to this questionnaire are protected by statistical confidentiality and are intended for the University of Montpellier and the Ministry of Higher Education and Research. These responses, as well as the data obtained through matching, will be retained for 3 years from the end of the data collection period for the purposes of the survey. They will be archived after this period. At all times, their use and access will be strictly controlled and limited to the compilation of statistics or to scientific or historical research.

General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) 2016/679 of April 27, 2016, and Law No. 78-17 of January 6, 1978, on Information Technology, Data Files, and Civil Liberties apply to this survey.

The SCUIO-IP at the University of Montpellier is the sole recipient of identification data (name and contact information), along with the Archives of France, in accordance with the provisions of Article L. 212-4 of the Heritage Code. This data will be retained by the data-collecting department for the duration of the data collection period or beyond, in order to facilitate cohort follow-up or the conduct of qualitative follow-up surveys. Ph.D. graduates in 2020, 2022, and 2024

The purpose of the “National Survey on the Professional Situation of Doctoral Graduates” is to conduct a statistical study on the professional situation of doctoral graduates from 2020, 2022, and 2024, one year, three years, and five years after obtaining their doctorate. This processing constitutes the processing of personal data carried out by the University of Montpellier for the performance of a task carried out in the public interest within the meaning of Article 6 of Regulation (TU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of April 27, 2016, on the protection of personal data (GDPR).

Our institution is committed to processing your personal data in accordance with Law No. 78-17 of January 6, 1978, as amended, on Information Technology, Data Files, and Civil Liberties, and the GDPR. Our institution uses the dedicated platform of the Ministry of Higher Education, Research, and Innovation to collect survey data. The Ministry of Higher Education, Research, and Innovation hosts the personal data necessary for compiling statistics on behalf of our institution. The Ministry of Higher Education, Research, and Innovation acts as a data processor for our institution and will not process the data itself.

The recipients of the data are: OSIPE, the Observatory for Student Monitoring and Professional Integration at the SCUIO-IP of the University of Montpellier, which collects and processes the data and publishes the results for the DRED and the College of Doctoral Schools at the University of Montpellier.

Identification data is retained for ten years, connection data for one year, and data related to educational background, professional history, and economic and financial information for ten years.

You may access your personal data and exercise your rights of access, rectification, restriction, and objection under Articles 15, 16, 18, and 21 of the GDPR at the following address: ipdoc@recherche.gouv.fr.
